38 weeks

Well Im 38 weeks now (actually 38 weeks and 5 days!)

I can't wait for our little man to make his big debut!

I think and dream about him all of the time.

We're pretty ready. I got some sheets and a couple other things from babies r us the other day so they need to be washed and the hospital bag still isn't ready to go but almost :)

I don't know if I'll ever necessarily feel READY, but I feel ready enough (well after next tuesday so my mom and dan can make it here!)

My grandma and grandpa made their way from Northern california in an RV and are now staying near by :) We get to visit with them on Saturday and Im excited to see them! We are SO blessed to have so much family willing to visit us and share in this amazing time!

My mother in law (and maybe some siblings?) will also be trying to make it here for Michael's birth! We're not sure how it will work out though because Michael's cousin Seth is due only 6 days after he is!! Who knows when these babies will decide to come!!

These last few days, maybe weeks, have been a bit uncomfortable :) But I have to say that my pregnancy has been pretty amazing. I have not minded being pregnant at all and am SO grateful! I just hope and pray that labor will be just as smooth :)

Budget Challenge update!

I postponed my Friday trip to Monday and bought for 2 weeks instead of 1 because the ads weren't great for this week and I wanted to stock up on some of the stuff on sale!

We bought:

5 lbs of Ranchers Reserve steak (and had them cut it into strip and steak sizes.)

3-4 crowns of broccoli

1 canteloupe

2 bags of romaine

3 hot house tomatoes

1 bunch of bananas

3 lbs of grapes

6 apples

4-5 oranges

5 lbs of potatoes

20 cans of vegetables

2 12 count cartons of eggs

1 gallon of milk

2 bags cheddar Jack cheese

1 bag italian mix cheese

2 ears of corn

And the total was $49 so we stayed under the budget and were able to stock up on some meat and cans and get lots of fresh produce :) YUM.

SO far this week we've had

Steak with a parmesean garlic sauce, Mashed potatoes and green beans.

BBQ chicken, corn on the cob, and salad

Italian style steak over pasta and marinara sauce with salad

And tonight we're looking at beef and broccoli with brown rice :)

Budget Challenge

We are going ( I guess have been since I stopped working at the end of February) from two incomes to one. We used my income mostly for saving and playing so as not to become dependent upon it

BUT

I decided I can still do my part. :)

I'm going to challenge myself to spend $25 a week AT THE MOST on groceries.

Starting this week.

I looked at the ads for sales and pinchingyourpennies.com to match some coupons. (There weren't really any coupons I wanted this week, so not a long list to shop for.) I made a list of the things we needed and might want and their prices and stores. I then went through and budgeted how much I would get of each item and made meal plans to correspond with some of the things I am getting and some things we already have.

I'm excited to start this grocery plan! It would be SO nice to be able to keep our grocery bill so low! Im going shopping Friday so I'll update then!

Catching up

Well, I am 37 weeks and 4 days pregnant! 17 days until my due date!

I feel HUGE.

Although, maybe I'm not, but I FEEL it.

Michael is nice and cozy in my belly. He is head down, has dropped (so i feel low pressure ALL of the time!), and I'm as ready as I'll ever be for him to come out (sometimes).

I had an internal check Monday and I was a fingertip dilated..so almost 1 cm. My doctor thinks he may decide to come later than my due date. I'd rather him not, but it's not up to me, is it? :)

He can cook as long as he needs, but that doesn't mean I won't be getting up in the morning to walk! :)

I took a breast feeding class last night and it was FABULOUS! I recommend it to anyone who wants to nurse! It was very informational and made me feel a lot more confident that I will be able to breastfeed successfully. I'll let ya know!

We have pretty much every "thing" ready for Michael to arrive! I should probably do a little mroe laundry and prep my diapers but they don't need to be done for when he is born so I've been a little more relaxed about that.

I WAS in SUPER nesting mode. I had something to do at ALL times and was EXHAUSTED. I still try to keep the house clean and prepare things (like cleaning closets?) but I've calmed down a little bit because I need to focus on HOMEWORK! It is that constant little thing nagging me now.

I'm so excited for Michael to arrive and can't wait until he is stretching OUTSIDE of my body. My belly would love a break :) But I still love feeling him move and can't wait to kiss and hug my little boy!! I have the most amazing dreams about him but I still can't see him. What a surprise is will be!
